The snow is finally melting around here and it looks like it might almost be spring here in the Ocean State! (yay!) So now that we don’t have to watch the weather for a snow storm, it has got me thinking about finally making some solid and fun weekend plans. For me weekends tend to be low-key and border-line pathetic. When I went to the movies last weekend that was the most I’ve done in quite some time, I know I’m kind of a spinster. Normally it doesn’t bother me to spend a few nights in when the weather is crappy but now that I can almost see some of my grass, it’s time to make some plans!  Now don’t fret single gals this list can be done with your boo, your friends, or maybe even solo!

garfield weekend

7 things to do this weekend:

1. Read a book somewhere other than your house

-I love to read but often get sidetracked at home so why not take it to a coffee house instead.

2. Visit a museum

-There has gotta be a museum somewhere close to you, go get your culture awn!

3. Find a few recipes on Pinterest you pinned forever ago and make something great

-My food board is out of control-if only I had the time to make one of them! Sunday’s are a perfect day for that!

4. Take a trip to your local thrift store

-Yes I said thrift store. Do you know the incredible things you can find there?! I’m talking about brand new stuff. Thrift stores skeeve you out? All you have to do is wash the clothes when you get home!

5. Unplug for an hour

-Ever unplug for an hour? How about 30 minutes? It’s hard but really makes you stop and enjoy life-seriously, try it.

6. Clean out your car

-That is on EVERYONE’S to-do list, I know it is, you’re thinking right now, yes I need to do that. So do it this weekend!

7. Make a list like this one

-Get the creative juices flowing and write down 7 things you could do this weekend instead of what you usually do. If you blog then create a post-I would love to read it!

I hope everyone has a great Friday and a great weekend! I’m off to New Jersey to perhaps accomplish something on this list!!

xoxo Lindsay

Ugh, I desperately need to clean out my car! That might be my least favorite chore. I think I’ll just curl up and read a book instead . . . 🙂 Thanks for this fun list!

I will be volunteering about 12 hours on Saturday, but feel especially inspired by #1. I planned on reading to rest on Sunday and now I am planning on doing it in the park. Thank you.

    Happy Friday Linds!!

I am food prepping tomorrow (we’re transitioning to Paleo on Sunday (was originally going to start tomorrow but too much to do) and Sunday is supposed to be nice so I want to go out and take some pictures in the country, of some farms, the landscape, maybe some horses. It’s been a gorgeous week weather-wise.

    Have a great weekend hun!

Love it – very very sweet – and I love “unplugging” for an hour and going to a thrift store – love going to thrift stores and often forget to!

Hi Lindsay, what a fun idea. I should clean my car!! :-[ we have a lovely small museum in my town; are your thrift shops like our charity shops, selling donated second hand stuff? On Saturday I will be gardening unless it’s raining in which case I will read and it’s Mother’s Day here in the UK on Sunday so I will unplug most of the day:-)

We have a few different types of thrift stores-we have the kind where its donated items and then we have ones that are like high-end designer donated type of stuff! I have found some really good stuff at both places!

Ohhh… I am loving the idea of reading a book somewhere other than your house. The weather has been so nice here, I’d love to take a book and blanket and lay out under a tree, that sounds so great right now. I’d also love to go thrifting! I’ve been wanting to so badly! Unfortunately, it’s not super fun to do those things with toddlers in tow. 🙁

Yes, having kids can sometimes complicate things 🙁 I don’t have any kids so I can’t relate at all outside of work that is. I hope you have a fun weekend regardless!
