• We are “that couple”

Happy Friday everyone! So this post is not really too exciting but something has been bothering me for a week or so now, and that is being told by many people that my boyfriend are I are “that couple”. You know, that couple, the ones that are inseparable, can’t keep their hands off each other, and just love being around each other…yep that’s us. And for a little while there, I was bothered and didn’t want to be “that couple”. It was almost like we were being shamed because we enjoy each other so much. But then I started thinking and I was like, you know what, I LOVE being…

  • New year, new me?

I feel like every “new  year”, it’s the same old posts, making plans/goals, and deciding to be a “new you”. Well this year, I’m not really trying to be a “new me”. I mean, I like who I am, and lets face it, after 35 years I’m probably not changing too much. Do I have goals I want to achieve, yes, but that won’t make me a “new me”. So now that the holiday’s are over, things can kind of get back to normal around here. School is starting up again and so isn’t my first field placement in my grad school program. I’m feeling like I’m going to be…

  • Merry Christmas & a 1 year AAA membership giveaway!

**This contest is now closed** *Sponsored post with AAA. All opinions are my own. I can’t believe tomorrow is December 16th! This year is going by so quickly and with Thanksgiving just behind us, I still have so much to be thankful for! One of those being my lovely boyfriend whom I just celebrated 8 months with and I literally could not be happier. Have you put your holiday decorations up yet? I did this the other day and it’s been rather nice sitting and looking at my tree and the festive décor. This weekend it will be time to decorate my boyfriend’s house because I can’t wait any longer!…

  • 4 ways to shop for kids this holiday season

Let’s back up for a second…when did I become someone that writes about “kid-friendly” things? I’d say for the past 7 months… And no I didn’t have any babies! 🙂 However, my wonderful boyfriend does have two children whom I spend a great deal of time with and it’s actually been friggen’ awesome!! I now get to do all the fun kid stuff and actually have kids with me! Which brings me to this post. I can’t believe that today I was actually looking at a Black Friday flyer and deciding whether or not it is worth getting up and heading to Target on Black Friday. I am not a…

  • 7 things I’ve learned living alone

It’s been almost 7 months that I’ve been living “alone”, I use that loosely since I spend a lot of time at my boyfriends house 😉 Anyways, occurred to me that even though I am only home a few days a week I have really learned a lot about myself while living here. I thought I might put into words how having my first apartment has affected me, before I go and move in with my boyfriend eventually. I go through A LOT of toilet paper!! Does anyone else feel like they are blowing through toilet paper? Cooking for one is no fun! I hate cooking for myself, which has…

  • Top 5 Favorites

I was tagged by my girl Lindsay @ The Flynnigans to share some of my top 5 favorites, which you’ll see below.  This tag was created by Hannah from A Tiny Girl’s Big World. She wanted to create a tag that would allow a little bit of an insight into the writer of their favourite blog. The idea of the tag is: “There are a series of topics and you have to answer each one with 5 answers (Only once in your post can you add a sixth if you’re really stuck on a particular topic). This way, your readers have a chance to find out a little more about you and…

  • Back to the grind…

My saving grace this week is brought to you by Quaker Oats…no seriously it is. Right before I left, Influenster had sent me some overnight oats to try out. I didn’t have much time to do that before I left, so when I cam home and remembered that I already had breakfast for two days, I was stoked!! Going to the grocery store in general is annoying and I really didn’t want to go the day I came back from a two week vacation. So needless to say, this post is just a wee bit sponsored but that’s okay–I like free things! I received two cups of overnight oats that…
