A couple of weeks ago, I embarked on something totally new to me. I teamed up with like-minded gal named Lindsay. While, teaming up with other ladies in the blog world isn’t new to me, this collaboration was one for the books.
Let me introduce Lindsay Sullivan Skincare. It’s always nice when you have someone reach out to you, especially with the SAME name, and ask you to partner up on a couple of collaborations. Her name is Lindsay AND she’s into skincare, I signed right up. What I learned from Lindsay was that she is a makeup artist and certified skincare specialist. After chatting one day after work, we discovered that I have never had a professional facial before. In fact my only spa services have included massages.
We had something we could work with, I would get myself a facial and tell the whole world all about it! In fact, if you follow me on Facebook, I attempted to go live, but then had a slight mishap! You can still see the video…
Anyways, so what exactly is a facial? A facial is essentially a multi-step skin treatment that is one of the best ways to take care of your skin. A facial cleanses, exfoliates, and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion and can help your skin look younger.
Considering that I don’t really have “bad” skin, we didn’t do too much exfoliating, but there was some extractions that took place.
The first step in this process was for Lindsay to get to know my skin and my lifestyle. The questionnaire was longer than most doctor offices, but I was able to provide her with some great information, including food allergies, that are found in some skincare.
Secondly, I got comfortable and was provided with a robe and a heated table to lay on. Lindsay performed a cleanse to my face, followed by a relaxing steam (that really got me comfortable), extractions, and a moisturizer. I might be missing a step or two but I was so damn relaxed it was hard to pay attention!! It should be noted that Lindsay offers a lot of different kinds of facials, which is awesome!
Lindsay works with the company Beauty Counter for her skincare and makeup line–I’m actually thinking about jumping on board…stay tuned!!
So how was my facial experience? It was pretty darn awesome! I was SO relaxed it was insane–I can’t wait to do it again in about 8 weeks! My skin was incredibly soft and wasn’t irritated at all from the products, which means I would most likely love them if I used them on the daily.
How often do you get facials? What other spa services do you swear by? Tell me in the comments below!
