Shiny Hair:

• A tea and beer rinse is one of the oldest ways to bring shine to your hair. Boil used tea leaves in enough water, let it cool and then use this liquid as the last rinse.

• Lemon juice mixed with water can also be used as a last rinse to give your hair a shiny and bouncy look.

Dry Shampoo:

  • 5 ounces (150 grams) coarse-ground cornmeal, semolina or couscous
  • 30 drops essential oil of lemon
  • 20 drops castor oil

Mix the ingredients in a blender for a few seconds. Working over the sink, a large towel, or spread-out newspapers, bend your head forward and distribute pinches of the mixture over the hair and scalp. Gently massage the entire head, slowly and methodically, working in sections.

Keeping the head bent forward, comb and then brush out the meal. Continue combing and brushing until the hair is shiny and free of all traces of the shampoo.

Chamomile Shampoo:

  • 4 bags of Chamomile tea (or 1 handful of fresh Chamomile flowers)
  • 4 tablespoons pure soap flakes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons glycerin*

Let the tea bags steep in 1 1/2 cups of boiled water for 10 minutes. Remove the tea bags and with the remaining liquid add the soap flakes. Let stand until the soap softens. Stir in glycerin until mixture is well blended. Pour into a bottle. Keep in a dark, cool place.

Hair Dye Recipe for Blondes:

Wash your hair with one of the following rinses. Pour the selected rinse through your hair 15 times, re-rinsing with the same liquid. On the final rinse, wring hair, and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing with clear water.

Blonde: Mix 1 tablespoon lemon juice in 1 gallon warm water.

Blonde Highlights

  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 3 cups chamomile tea (brewed, & cooled)

Mix ingredients, pour over damp hair then let sit for an hour while you sit in the sun, wash out. Follow with a good conditioner.

This process must be repeated daily for a few weeks before you notice any changes.
