Making that leap! When the world is trying to discourage you.

Obstacles are thrown in our path all of the time, and in the world of creativity, there appears to be the perception that it’s a pipe dream, something that isn’t attained, apart from it being a “nice hobby”- something that doesn’t pay the bills! And as a blogger, facing discouragement is par for the course. And after a while, it’s not just frustrating, but it can be supremely annoying that you’ve got to face people putting you down. But when this is your goal, or you have any dream that appears supposedly unattainable, what can you do to work towards that, when the world is trying to stop you?

Research Your Plan Of Attack

Attempting to achieve our dreams sounds complex because they are dreams, something that’s not of this realm. But this shouldn’t discourage you; it’s more about how you plan your ascent. This doesn’t just mean preparing professionally and personally, but also financially. If you give up a full-time job to make your living as a blogger, you need a buffer or something to keep you ticking over during fallow periods. In this respect, developing some smart passive income ideas is a godsend. And while you might believe it to take over your life at some point, when you should be doing what you were put on this planet to do, it’s just about having a little bit of common sense. While we all like the idea of the starving artist, when you put the theory into practice, it’s not viable, plus you’re hungry all of the time! You have to make some sort of concession to achieve what you want, and for some people, this means cutting out the naysayers. Others have to work with their significant other to develop a plan where everyone is happy. But you need to make a plan, and this is vital. When you feel ready to give up, you take one look at this plan, and it’s going to put you back on track.

As well as having a plan to keep you focused, it’s important for you to have resilience in your mental and emotional stores. For those people that succeed, it’s not necessarily the talent that makes them, but for every successful creative, they will tell you that it’s a combination of talent, luck, and perseverance. You can have all the talent in the world, but if no one’s there to recognize this, you’re never going to get to where you want. And at the same time, you need to give yourself a break. Constant pressure can make you unravel so you need to find ways to give yourself a break, not just physically, but if you’re the type of person to beat yourself up over a mistake you have to do away with this.

Don’t Stop Pushing Forward

Your head is not in the clouds, and if everybody gave up as soon as they hit a stumbling block, nobody would achieve their goals in life. Creativity is one of those things that can make you feel alive, and if you know, in your heart of hearts, that this is what you want to do, you need to do what you can to get there.

I like speaking in # and giving people makeovers. Stick around!
