Staying fit in February

For the past month or so I have decided that its high time to kick it into overdrive with being “fit”. Not only do I have a wedding in August that I am in, but It’s just better in the long haul to be healthier overall. So that being said, what have I done to get and stay motivated? It’s simple, I wrote my fitness goals down.

I didn’t just write them down on a post-it but I actually took the time to make a calendar using Microsoft Word and manually typed in each day that I was going to work out. I alternate between cardio and weights and it really seems to have helped for the month of January. I’m hoping I can keep up the good work during February as well!

The second thing I did was to make a motivational collage. I subscribe to Women’s Health so I took a few of my old issues and began cutting out pictures, words, and phrases that I thought might help me when I’m not feeling into it. I taped it right to my desk and pretty much have to look at it all the time. It has been a great motivator.

The last piece of this fitness puzzle was to find a good total body workout that I could do from home in case I didn’t feel like going to the gym. I found a great arm, ab, and leg workout from Women’s Health and taped that to my desk as well. There are pretty much no excuses for me right now. I have a gym membership but with all these snow days, I don’t have to miss out and can work out from home. Here’s hoping I can keep it together month after month!
