For the past month or so I have decided that its high time to kick it into overdrive with being “fit”. Not only do I have a wedding in August that I am in, but It’s just better in the long haul to be healthier overall. So that being said, what have I done to get and stay motivated? It’s simple, I wrote my fitness goals down.

I didn’t just write them down on a post-it but I actually took the time to make a calendar using Microsoft Word and manually typed in each day that I was going to work out. I alternate between cardio and weights and it really seems to have helped for the month of January. I’m hoping I can keep up the good work during February as well!

The second thing I did was to make a motivational collage. I subscribe to Women’s Health so I took a few of my old issues and began cutting out pictures, words, and phrases that I thought might help me when I’m not feeling into it. I taped it right to my desk and pretty much have to look at it all the time. It has been a great motivator.

The last piece of this fitness puzzle was to find a good total body workout that I could do from home in case I didn’t feel like going to the gym. I found a great arm, ab, and leg workout from Women’s Health and taped that to my desk as well. There are pretty much no excuses for me right now. I have a gym membership but with all these snow days, I don’t have to miss out and can work out from home. Here’s hoping I can keep it together month after month!

    Good luck! Let us know how the working out goes. I know I’ll never ever make it to a gym. I have no room in front of my tv so I use workouts on my ipad from youtube lol. Whatever works right!

    I was just thinking about this, this am. I worked out and then thought I need a really good work out.. I need something advanced but easier on my joints until I strengthen and loose weight I have endurance though

    Great tips!! I too have some at home workouts I can tap into when the snow keeps me from the gym (which annoys me to no end, lol…how does it always know it’s my gym day!). Love the motivation board tip! Good luck with your goals!
