When it comes to summer, most people think of one thing: time in the sun! Sunscreen isn’t a beach only requirement – it is a great way to ward off wrinkles! While there are a ton of options out there not all sunscreens are created equal. Finding an efficient sunscreen includes multiple factors and I’ve complied them here for you!
Make sure you are using enough SPF. Dermatologists recommend SPF 30 – anything higher doesn’t really do much for you. You will also want to make sure that your sunscreen is broad spectrum which means it protects skin from both UVA and UVB rays.
Stay away from sprays and powders. You really can’t be sure how much sunscreen you are actually loosing to the wind.
Be cautious of the ingredients oxybenzone, retinyl palmitate, or octinoxate.
Make sure you are using a water resistant sunscreen! Always reapply before the time is up and every time you leave the water!
