• December Blog Challenge day 2: a day in the life of…

    Whew! Today was seriously NUTS and welcome to the 2nd day of our December Blog Challenge! Today’s topic, ‘a day in the life of’ is quite fitting because you wouldn’t believe the day I had. I usually start my days very similar, waking up at 7am, allowing 1hr to get myself showered, dressed and out of the house. My school starts at 9am and I have morning supervision duty that I cover from 8:25-9am. Today started the same until around 9:30. I have a student that is visually impaired and who happens to be a refugee from a small camp in Africa, so small in fact that only a handful…

  • Peaches & Pits {September 2015}

    Writers block is in full force right now, anyone else experiencing this? Well to say it’s been slow around here would be an understatement. I’ve been trying to keep up with the blog, among all the other crap that I have going on. So, tonight I thought it might be fun to do a mid-monthly round-up of some of the peachy things going on around here, and some of the not-so peachy things(the pits). As most of you know, work started back up, as well as school, to say that school is kicking my ass would be an understatement. Things have been quite busy but there has actually been a…

  • Beating Blogger Burnout {Part 2 Pinterest}

    I have really been anxious to start writing part 2 of my blogger burnout mini-series…I saw how helpful round 1 was and in case you missed it, you can read it here. So anyways, just to recap a bit, I talked about how overwhelming Facebook can be in part 1 and how I was going to start a new schedule, as to not drive myself crazy with all the groups I am in. So far, its actually going very well! So now lets talk about Pinterest. I LOVE using Pinterest to kill time in between work or classes, but until recently I really wasn’t using it in a practical blog…

  • A change will do you good

    and yes I am singing that Cheryl Crow song…. Anyways–in case you didn’t notice, we got ourselves a little makeover. Not too much besides the name/domain has changed..still needing someone to create a new logo for me, but that can wait. So changing the name has actually been a work in progress. I thought of the new name last summer, registered it but then just did nothing with it. Until the other day when I was reading Heart and Moxie¬†about rebranding and I decided to finally get off my ass and fix it! I’ve loved this new site name for quite some time and the change over wasn’t terrible. I…

  • Rainy Days & a Recipe

    This weekend was pretty good until it started raining cats and dogs on Sunday. Although the rain didn’t ruin my weekend too much because on Sunday I woke up feeling really awful, as in the start of a cold was brewing. So needless to say I spent today with a crazy sore throat and half of my voice. But anyways on Sunday my mom spent the day cooking for us, from this new cookbook I received and let her try out. The plan had been for us to cook together but I was sick and dizzy that I spent the whole day in bed. The cookbook I received is called…

  • June Motivation Goals

    We are about a week or so into the month of June and I have been trying really hard to get motivated with my fitness goals as well as school goals. Things have been rough the past month or so when I started taking two classes, I think I mentioned before that I feel as though I am drowning. After cutting a few things out of my life, I finally feel like I can breathe again. So that being said I have a few motivational goals that I would like to share with you today. June Motivation Goals: Keeping school work organized I’ve never had a problem being organized but…

  • Blogging Challenge Day 2: 10 years

    Welcome to day 2 of my 30 day blogging challenge! I’m sorta kicking myself for starting this challenge in April, because I already have so much else on my plate, but oh well. I really need to learn to juggle all of this better. So anyways, today’s topic is “where do you see yourself in 10 years”? That’s a good question! Well right now I’m in school for counseling, specifically addiction counseling, so ideally I would love to be working in the field. I would settle for anything in the human service field as well. As far as my life goes, I would *hope* to be married to my Christopher…
