• New year, new me?

    I feel like every “new¬† year”, it’s the same old posts, making plans/goals, and deciding to be a “new you”. Well this year, I’m not really trying to be a “new me”. I mean, I like who I am, and lets face it, after 35 years I’m probably not changing too much. Do I have goals I want to achieve, yes, but that won’t make me a “new me”. So now that the holiday’s are over, things can kind of get back to normal around here. School is starting up again and so isn’t my first field placement in my grad school program. I’m feeling like I’m going to be…

  • 3 Ingredient Overnight Oats

    Have you jumped on the overnight oats bandwagon yet? Unless you’ve been living under a rock, overnight oats seem to be everywhere, and mostly because they are AWESOME! A lot of recipes on Pinterest look confusing but this is one that I swear by and it’s SUPER easy and delicious! I first started making these about a month ago and now I am hooked. I get asked a lot of questions at work about it because it smells so good once I heat it up and it just looks yummy! [amd-zlrecipe-recipe:4] What I love about this recipe is that it actually keeps me pretty full so I don’t feel the…

  • 7 things to do this weekend {October}

    I can’t believe this weekend is the beginning of October–how quickly is this school year is going by?! So anyways, with October approaching, some of my favorite fall activities can finally be done! This weekend I’m not doing a whole lot; my second job starts this weekend (tutoring) and then it will probably be spent doing more homework. So as you can see, nothing too exciting going on here. However if I had some free time, I would love to be doing something on this list! Research a DIY Halloween costume Head to the Big E (if you’re from New England) if you’re not, I suggest a similar fair closer…

  • Beating Blogger Burnout {Part 2 Pinterest}

    I have really been anxious to start writing part 2 of my blogger burnout mini-series…I saw how helpful round 1 was and in case you missed it, you can read it here. So anyways, just to recap a bit, I talked about how overwhelming Facebook can be in part 1 and how I was going to start a new schedule, as to not drive myself crazy with all the groups I am in. So far, its actually going very well! So now lets talk about Pinterest. I LOVE using Pinterest to kill time in between work or classes, but until recently I really wasn’t using it in a practical blog…

  • Currently: Work Space{s}

    So I think everyone knows that I moved last week (down the street) but to a much bigger place. My room is about the same size just much nicer. I have pretty much a great bureau/vanity space, an awesome tv nook, but my work space is still a bit on the dull side. Let the beauty of what you love, be what you do I usually do work in one of two places; the first being on my bed and the second being at my desk. Lets talk about my desk first. My desk is brown and very much a students desk. It is adult sized and all but it…

  • A newbie’s guide to planning a bridal shower

    I can’t believe it’s already May which means the bridal shower I am throwing is just weeks away. With so much happening around here I am really glad I started planning early. I should tell you that I’ve had no formal training in this area-I’m just a girl who was probably an event planner in another life. I was beyond thrilled when I was asked to be a part of my besties big day. For starters we are literally the same person which makes life so much easier! Even though I haven’t known her for too long, it feels like FOR-EV-ER (Sandlot voice). Since she is originally from Illinois, she…
