• What I’ve Learned From Being A Blogger

Being a blogger is hard work. Sometimes it can be hard but mostly its just work.  I’ve been a blogger for three years now and looking back on it now, what a ride its been. With the Travel Blog Exchange fast approaching in June, it has made me think about how my blogging first started. Many of you know that I started this just after a trip to Alaska with the ex.  After we broke up last Spring I wasn’t sure I would be able to blog again. It was friends and family that convinced me to keep going and see what I could do.  I’ve learned a lot over…

  • Barefoot Wallets: A Traveler’s Best Friend

On a recent trip to Denver, Colorado for the beloved Tbex conference I was introduced to Mark Walsh, the maker of Barefoot Wallets. Barefoot Wallets are handmade one of a kind wallets for all your traveling needs. Not only do they look amazing but they are extremely functional. Here’s the skinny: Made from a laminate-composite that has Carbon Fiber, Kevlar, and Pentex at its core. These fibers are bonded between a plastic Mylar film to produce a cloth that is extremely thin, light, and waterproof.  They can be personalized: We can make your wallet even more unique by hand-writing your name and/or date of purchase on the inside tag. This is a free service,…

  • 50 Shades Of Awkward: My Tbex Experience

Once again Tbex sneaked up on me, gave me a little tease, and was gone before I knew it. It goes by fast every year but this year in particularly it seems to have been the best and worst Tbex that I’ve attended. Don’t get me wrong I was pushed this time around; pushed in the sense that I was challenged both psychically, mentally, and emotionally.  Words can’t express how much knowledge Tbex gave me this year; follow along as I try to convey. Arrival Arriving to Tbex actually went off with out a hitch! Being that Denver is such a big hub, it made for flying into very easily…

  • Trouble Packing For Tbex? Take A Look…

Its Tuesday kids! You know what that means; for some of us we are all ready en route to Colorado for Tbex, for others we will be patiently waiting until Friday. With that being said, I’ve heard from others expressing concern about what to pack. The weather in Colorado is less than desirable, meaning its warm during the day but cold at night; not exactly the best for packing. Yesterday I finalized the majority of the clothing I would be bringing. My goal is simple yet cute.  You will see that I’ve stuck with the basics but there’s a bit of flare thrown in for fun! Now each item is just a…

  • ‘Twas The Night Before Tbex

‘Twas The Night Before Tbex ‘Twas the night before Tbex when all through the states, Not a creature was stirring, not even an Aussie mate, The clothes were all packed and the luggage was near, In the hopes that Colorado soon would be here. The bloggers were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of hot tub parties danced in their heads. I had just closed my eyes for a moment or two, And started dreaming about all the stuff we would do, When suddenly my alarm began making a loud racket, All I wanted to do was lean over and smack it! The day is here, it was…

  • Why I’M Going Back To Tbex

With Tbex being only two weeks away I started thinking about why I’m even going back. I mean sure there’s parties and booze but I can get that here in Rhode Island.  So why am I going back? Good question. To be honest I don’t have just one reason why, I have three. I was first introduced to Tbex  by my ex who shall remain nameless, after starting Fashionista’s Travel  two years ago this July and realizing just how important it was to me, I decided to tag along and join him in Vancouver for Tbex11. Well to my surprise I ended up getting way more out of it then…

  • Do’s And Don’ts For Tbex12′ Virgins

With the arrival of the Travel Blog Exchange otherwise known as Tbex fast approaching, we here at Fashionista’s Travel are slowly preparing ourselves. Flights have been booked, condo’s have been rented, and more recently a travel sized clown car has been reserved. With Tbex being only 2 short months away its important to start mentally preparing as well. Now after attending last years conference in Vancouver we aren’t calling ourselves experts or anything but if you are new to the scene aka a Tbex virgin then read on for some of the best do’s and don’ts this side of Denver.
