  • Destination Bridesmaid {what to pack}

    As I mentally prepare for my upcoming trip, I am overwhelmed with the thought of packing. I have started a list but have found myself sleepless at night, trying to make sure I don’t forget to pack something of importance. Many of you know I’m not traveling to Chicago strictly for fun, I’m heading about 2.5 hours south (?) to farm country to take part in my best friends wedding. So as you can see, I have a lot to remember! Last night my friend Nicole came over to give me a hair and makeup trial for the wedding. She is also invited and making the trip out to IL.…

  • 5 Bad Habits to Break

    Habits can be good or bad but in my case they tend to be mostly bad. I have a lot of bad habits across the board.  It got me thinking that perhaps other people shared similar if not the same bad habit. If we work together I think we can break some of these. If you take a moment to check these items off your list you will be saving yourself time and money. (something we all need a little bit more of) 1. Reading Material  Whether it’s a book or…

  • Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica: Day’s 6-8

    It’s official I finished my first full week of volunteering.  What a challenge! I honestly didn’t expect it to be this hard. I spent one week working with children aged 10-12, who barely spoke English and I barely speak Spanish-you can imagine the confusion.  Regardless, I’m loving it and I really wish I could give these kids another week of my time. That being said, after a long week, getting away is just what we needed. Earlier in the week we decided to plan a trip to Manuel Antonio.  Manuel Antonio is a beach community that is a 3.5 hour bus ride away from San Pedro.  There you are able to enjoy…

  • Exhausted In Costa Rica: Day 3

    I think that the title of my post really says it all. Today was an exhausting day. 5:45am Wake up! Really hard to do considering that we had gone out the night before. However we didn’t stay too late but late enough when your waking up early. I should mention that last night was really fun and the bars in Costa Rica are so laid back and CHEAP! I sampled some awesome orange beer and I really wish I had taken a photo but its not really safe to bring your phone out with you at night, especially at crowded bars. Anyways… 6:30am Shovel in breakfast for 15minutes and then…
