The No More Excuses Diet

I think I mentioned in my June goals, that working out was something I really needed to work on and I meant it. Most recently my motivation has come from this book The No More Excuses Diet. Excuses is what I always seem to be full of when it comes to eating right and working out. I decided to give this book 110% and see if I could make it 3 months.

This book is awesome in the fact that is coming from Maria Kang, a real person/mom/fitness guru, who has been in all of our shoes. She understands the excuses but it also ready for us to commit to putting them behind us. I love when she say’s “it takes 21 days to break a habit”, so basically don’t give up for 21 days and it will feel like second nature to you.

While most of the rules are pretty straightforward, there are a couple in particular that I am really focusing on such as: stop eating 3 hours before bed and write down everything you eat. I am back to tracking my food/calories and I think it is really helping. What I really need to focus on in addition is my gym schedule; working out 3-4 times a week is going to be hard but I am determined.

I also really like that this book takes you on a fitness journey by writing down your fitness/weight goals, and tracking your progress. I took a planner and mapped out 3 months and have all my measurements written down. Currently my goal is to lose 25lbs by September 15th. Even though I technically started last Wednesday, my “challenge” is starting Monday June 15th.

I am also a part of a planking challenge so I have been planking since the beginning of June and have just started to notice a bit of a change in my stomach. I am hopeful with the two combined I will see my results come September. I am really excited to track my progress and would really recommend picking up a copy of this book when you have a chance.
